Our Story…

Welcome to Charm Travel Company, where the story of our passion for tourism and the travel sector intertwines with our family’s legacy. Our journey began in the late fifties and early sixties when two brothers embarked on a humble venture, providing tourist transport services using cars (taxi) in the Holy Land. Over time, our dedication to quality service saw us expand to offer English tour guide services, catering to visitors from around the world.

As the years passed, Mr. Assad, equipped with the necessary professional licenses and academic qualifications, joined the ranks of our growing enterprise. His introduction of services in Spanish opened new horizons for new services, reaching out to diverse travelers seeking unique experiences in the region.

With each step, we advanced and carved our path to success. Relocating our headquarters to Nablus Street near Damascus Gate, a stone’s throw away from the Old City of Jerusalem, marked a significant milestone in our development. Our services extended beyond borders, providing transportation between Jordan, Beirut, Damascus, and Jerusalem, leaving an indelible mark on the region’s tourism landscape.

The year 1967 brought about political changes, altering the geographical scope of our operations. However, we adapted to the new realities and continued to offer unparalleled services within the borders of the Holy Land. The demand for tourist bus services surged, and we heeded the call by providing transportation to delegations and tourist groups, replacing taxis with comfortable buses.

In the late seventies, amidst only two other companies offering similar services, the Mahfouz family emerged as the third contender in the market. Our dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction positioned us as a reputable player in the tourism sector.

As the nineties approached, a new chapter unfolded when Mr. Assad Mahfouz assumed leadership of the family company. Under his guidance, the company thrived, riding the wave of prosperity that embraced the nation and its various sectors. However, as the millennium came to a close, the political upheavals in the Middle East disrupted the region’s stability, affecting economies, including the tourism sector. Nevertheless, we remained resilient, weathering the storm.

In 2004, we saw a glimmer of hope as the tides of adversity began to recede. Determined to stay prepared for the anticipated economic recovery, we invested in upgrading our assets, acquiring new buses, and modernizing our fleet to meet the demands of an evolving market.

Despite challenges, our spirit remained unyielding, propelling us forward until the unexpected arrival of the global pandemic, COVID-19. The pandemic wreaked havoc on the travel industry, forcing us to confront unparalleled circumstances. Mr. Assad, with a heavy heart, decided to step down and retire from the active management of the family business, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and determination.

However, from the ashes of adversity, a phoenix rises. As the world gradually recovered from the pandemic’s impact, the sons of Mr. Assad, now experienced and passionate, envisioned a new beginning. Fuelled by their father’s wisdom and the family’s ancient legacy in the tourism sector, they founded Charm Travel Company.

With a blend of experience, youthful enthusiasm, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of service, Charm Travel Company aims to usher in a new era of unforgettable journeys and experiences. Embracing the challenges of a dynamic world, we remain dedicated to showcasing the wonders of the Holy Land and beyond to travelers from all corners of the globe.
